Okay guys so I did images the other day. I am sort of tweaking the background color. Which of the 3 do you think looks cleanest?

#1 for the background, #2 or #3 for the food.

Yeah I am leaning towards #1 as well. I need to darken and add noise to the underlying floor and change the blending mode in post and see how I can alter the sand color some....

Am just curious... what is the objective of the shoot? Is it to promote the brewery (and the beers & drinks) or the fact that it also serves food (i.e. restaurant)? If it is to promote the brewery, are there any photos of the facility and its products? Again, just curious... :D

I had a shot list of 15 things I need. Food was one then beers, patrons, employees, drinks being mixed brewers working etc... these will be to populate their new website.

Sorry to say that neither of shot present the best of either the food or the drinks. A overhead shots for culinary shots are most often used when you have a setting that add to the hero (food or the drinks) in the shot in your case the bg/settings adds nothing I'm afraid.

There seems to be very little attention to detail, the fork and the knife isn't positioned with care, the sauce looks dry etc.

Unless you have a settings that add to the hero in the shot, go close and pick ONE hero. In your case if you picked the food you could have gone more eye level with the beer and as the background.

Your second shots looks ok, not sure what the neon streaks are for though ? Can't associate it with the name of the whiskey nor with any graphical element of the label.

The oil or dressing is blowing back a direct reflection from the 4' octobox. I can darken in post and make it look darker. I did angles as well. I may do them without silverware because they are going to use paper napkins and I would rather not show them in the shot....

Also the plain and standard bottle shot...

Okay cool yeah I didn't put a stylist into the quote so I am gonna skip straight down and just do various angles on round 2. I will do with and without silverware just in case!

I like number 2 the best of the top three, but I'd delete the beverages, don't know why they are there, and they don't add anything. If food is the focus, then it works, if not, then I'd not use the shot.

Like the second two pictures much better, but not the cropping into the corners of the plate, and certainly not the ketchup. JMHO.

Looks better, still for a burger shot the hero should be the burger and that is not really visible from this angle, again the background is not adding to the shot.

I like the bottle better without the neon as i can't see a connection between the neon and the bottle. The white halo around the bottle is a bit thick for my taste.

The Burger and Fries shot takes the cake (or Whiskey in this case)
