Did some tone mapping, lens distortion correction in RawTherapee 5.3, and put a big dip in the Lightness by Hue equalizer to pull the cyano-haze back to the blue for some contrast to the clouds.

Put in ACR, deceased exposure, adjusted color temp to blue and brought down the saturation. Back in PSCC brought in a second image to replace the sky with clouds and moon with a little extra.

Happy Halloween...............:twisted::twisted::twisted:

ps added a few lights for the scaredy cats

Don't even begin to think I'm criticizing your images.
Just a natural curiosity.

It was hard to choose the best edit. For this week, I'm selecting Rrblind as a winner.
I also like Photosbytw and Bianchi edits.

Thank You.

Before and After - The Weekly Editing Challenge
...now compiled into a single, easy to locate thread, that can be added to your subscribe/follow list!

Rules are simple:

  • Download the image file from the current week
  • Contestants will have 7 days to edit the image and post their edited version to the thread (As many entries as you like)
  • The owner of the original image will choose a winner and runner-up
  • The winner will copy & paste this post and include a new downloadable image link

The new image must be unedited / SOOC (straight our of camera), full-resolution, and in a RAW format, ie. CR2, DNG, TIF, etc (Dropbox works well for uploading and linking these large files) The purpose of this game is to be creative and learn new editing techniques. You must give some insight into exactly how you went about editing the image. For example, increased shadows sliders, reduced highlights, local sharpening, white balance adjustment, specific filters used, tone curve adjustments, etc. Comments and/or questions regarding the edits are encouraged.

Okay, HERE IS A ZIPPED FILE with a 7 shot bracket(-3 to +3 in 1EV increments) of an old church located in the woods. There's lots wrong with this shot and at first I binned it but then decided not to. Without telling you what I think is wrong with it, I'll rely on you wizards to find and correct. Of course, be as creative as you wish, no rules.

And the 0EV shot(very contrasty):
