Ive been a Canon guy the entire 10 years Ive been shooting, a bit of a brand snob to be honest. Wanted a travel/street camera and ended up with the Panasonic LX100 and was very impressed. However, I decided I wanted to jump up to the GX8 to get interchangeable lenses. I shoot mostly fashion/glamour and the GX8 is amazing. I have the Olympus 25 and 45 f/1.8 which are also excellent, especially for the $299 price they are at right now. Just as sharp and detailed as any L glass Ive ever used, including the ones that cost 4-5 times the price! AF is extremely quick and always accurate. I can't say enough good things about this camera or the Olympus lenses, nor have I come across any faults yet. The 4k video is excellent too. Not quite up to GH4 quality but as close as you can get. Here is a full sized file below from my shoot today with the GX8 and Olympus 25 f/1.8, amazing sharpness, even at 100%.

Yeah, I read the GX8 preview at DPR and it's now on my radar. Your photo is very sharp.

I have to study the features of the GX8 and see what it has to offer. The camera and lens will
be expensive, and I already have the 6D, 24-70 II, 70-200 f2.8 II. I'd be spending a lot of money
just for a small package. We'll see.

Thanks! Depends on what you consider a lot of money. You can get the GX8 and two fantastic lenses like the Olympus 25 f/1.8 and 45 f/1.8 for less than what you spent on just your 24-70 II :-) The GX8 and two lenses probably weigh less than your 24-70 too haha. The lenses are TINY. Im still shocked at the quality given their size. Im going to give it another shoot or two but Im most likely going to sell my Canon gear and go all in on Panasonic/Olympus.

It's on my "want" list. I have the GX7 for when I want to be a "tad" invisible and want to "look like a tourist" but my primary focus is motion picture (video). So the 4K UHD feature appeals to me.

I have a GH4 and the new G7 and a fair collection of m4/3 lenses.

Guess the GX7 will go up fer sale...

Yeah how do you get banned? I've seen 'banned' a couple of times but never delved into the crime.
Back to the GX8. My GX7 is sold. Thinking of selling the GH4 it has so few clicks on it-I'm just not a video kind of guy and me thinking the GX8 is more photo prone and could do video in a pinch. I've had the Sony A7Rii for almost 2 weeks now and yet to fire up the video on it, probably will be just no real need other than to see that it works.
Carrying the Lumix GM5 daily now and have been for some time. The 40-140mm lives on it. Should also consider selling the RX100iii BUT it can still do something no Lumix body can and that is charge/operate from USB. I do think the GH5 will have the autofocus tracking that will finally allow me to leave the heavy EOS kit; well the GH5+100-400g Leica--if that actually happens.
Currently on the every 2 week notification from B&H for the Oly 300 F4....the reports from Daniel J. Cox say the 40-150 2.8 Pro works a charm on the GX8 should crossover to the 300 F4.
Just rambling, ,justifying, wondering....

Totally satisfied with the GX8. Really nothing it cannot do, well OK it can't do infrared and the better half was showing me up last night with Live Composite on her OMD M5 mk ii, but generally this newest Lumix is a jack of all. I think most would consider mFTs not night sky capable due to sensor performance, maybe the new Sony sensor inside will change that-

Picked up one yesterday along with the 12-35 - I'm jumping right in with this puppy. I'm using it at a wedding tonight. It'll be accompanied by an a7r2, an RX1 and the RX100IV

Should be fun
