Has anyone tried the third party batteries for Sony cameras from places like AliExpress? My Sony RX100 takes a NP-BX1 battery which costs over $40 CAD whereas I can pick up the generic ones for about $5 on AliExpress.

I use Wasabi Power batteries in my a7S, can't tell the difference between them and OEM.

That definitely sounds like it to me. I've been using mostly Wasabi Power batteries in all of my cameras for years now and I think I've only had 1 that was ever faulty with a shorter lifespan. I have noticed a weird issue with the Wasabi's compared to the OEM in that if left in the camera with the camera off they seem to discharge faster over the course of a few days than the OEM ones do, but because the OEM ones also discharge while in the off camera I've already gotten in the habit of taking the battery out when I leave the camera sitting for a few days.
