Any thoughts on the Leica Q? I'm thinking about eventually picking on up for fun/street/walking around, but it's hard to justify it from a business expense standpoint.

Also, have any of you used Leica in any professional capacity or for event work? I would think that this isn't what most people use it for, but haven't really delved into this community at all.

Appreciate any feedback here!

I've gone completely Leica M for my pro work but not Q
Sold all of my Canon gear 2 5DIIs, Metz 58, Canon 580, 24L, 35L, 85L and 200 2L and some other things. Had a Leica MM for about 3 1/2 years and a 35 1.4 Summilux FLE ASPH (which is the finest 35mm lens I have ever shot with by far and I've show with a lot of 35mm lenses over the years). My Canon gear about paid for a new M 262, used 90mm Summicron (mid 1980s) and very gently used M-E with one year Leica warranty and I already had Zeiss 35mm 2.8 ZM Biogon C. Also 2 used sf 58 portable strobe. NO REGRETS. I got what i paid for the 200 2L but most of the other Canon stuff I took a pretty good hit on. You wont take that hard of a hit on Leica equipment.

The size and wright difference are huge. The image quality is just amazing. The 90 2 for the mid 1980s out performs most every DSLR lens out there. I can only imagine what the new 90 Cron APO is like.

Here's a visual of the new line up.

Professional photography has different levels. On level 1 they dictate you what to shot with. On the next level you are showing those middle finger and let them have what you have done, once your name was recognized.

Events? Based from what I learned, have done and one of our kids is doing now, Leica is overkill for it. If events photos are for very general public, IMO.
Leica is for those who could make photography as unique event from the street which looks empty. http://blog.leica-camera.com ...raphers/leica-and-magnum/ (external link)

"This community" is great to learn about common gear and basics in photography related to it. P.O.T.N. is great for it, it has helped me to grow and to learn from zero level. But Leica and photography related to it has started before honorable and respected Pekka was born and gave us P.O.T.N. Check Henri Cartier-Bresson and Garry Winogrand events photography. It is very different from what you could find here.

If you are professionally oriented for weddings photography where are great results with Fuji X RF like cameras. Small and great cameras, lenses.
If it is about life... Here is no galleries from Canonikon, FujiSonic I'm aware of like Leica has.

Leica Q? It is 28mm FF camera, same as Winogrand used for many years. I have studied his work for landscapes, events, street and candid for about six months on-line, went to see his prints and have huge photo book of his photographs. I have tried 28mm lens on Leica bodies after it. It appears to be extremely hard to me and I have sold Leica 28mm lens. It was about what airfrogusmc has mentioned to me once. With 28mm lens you must be very close, not just close, but very close and once you are this close, you still have to watch the corners.

I'm thinking of getting Fuji for travel. Maybe for weddings, but I'm not sure if the autofocus is 100% there yet.
