EDIT: Link to my Flickr album of shots with this lens: https://www.flickr.com …/albums/72157667228291102 (external link)

Sorry, no comparisons to my sigma - yet.

My focus missed a decent number of shots. I didn't count, but I would guess I missed about 60% - usually by approximately 0.5cm.
I'm not sure autofocus would have done better?

Focus ring is very pleasant with low tension, unlike the Sonnar 135 which I hate to focus with.

The average for the rating system needs to reflect only the items chosen...not the average of all fields. If this lens is a 6... I'm tossing out all my glass :) Love the color reproduction in the shots... very nice all around.

I did "6" because of the lack of AF and esp. the cost - not the quality. (It didn't average with the blank values.)
Quality is very nice. :)

Thanks for photo love :p

I have to agree with Hatch--any lens that can produce the images above (with the help of a good shooter such as yourself) deserved better than a 6. I mean, an MF lens isn't supposed to AF. So why penalize it?

Alright, I changed it to an 8. I don't think I can give it more than that because of the price.

I'm also changing focusing to a 9. Everyone knows it's an MF lens, so I shouldn't penalize it for not having AF. I should strictly rate how well it does at MF - and I love its ring. Smooth, low tension. I wish the ring were further forward, for ergonomics. That may not be possible??

I'm looking at the cost vs benefit, compared to my favorite competitor: sigma 85. Thus, I can't rate higher. Note: I'm happy to have the lens :).

Just came here to say: I love my otus for studio work.
I wouldn't use AF even if I had it, and the focus ring on this thing is fantastic. :)

Just bought the Milvus 85mm and am satisfied. If I had the spare funds, I would gladly enjoy buying this lens. I like the bird photos, reminds me of Gizmo and Gidgette, two green cheek Conures we used to care for.

The color and clarity of the photos you showed are stellar.
