....from last summer, I mean. The fox family that I had great fortune following all summer has left, and the den is unoccupied this year. So what to do but go find another fox. No family, just this one guy who was having rather poor luck hunting. In the end, he went home hungry. I had the shutter speed set quite slow as he wasn't moving around very much, and it was getting dark, so I was trying to keep my ISO and noise as low as I could. Unfortunately when he did make a move on a mouse, he really turned on the turbo thrusters and I got a bit of blur. Happy with these tough, in the end.

Thanks much Jeff. Yea, I'm sure they're close by but it's dense back woods brush all around that area. In the meantime I may have found another den under a barn, going to see today.

Nope, I don't have a barn. A neighbour about 4 km away has an old 200 yr old barn that's about to fall down and she says there may be foxes living under it.

Fantastic, I would love to be able to shoot without all the sticks and brush in the way, Its difficult to get the clean shot here

I can only hope Jeff, there's a lot of untended low growth around this barn so will see later today.

Very nice Ian! Your less than perfect shots are better than anything I've ever achieved! Good luck finding and documenting the new family. Can't wait to see them!
