Any interest in creating a section devoted to drone photography?

I like the idea.

I wonder how Pekka feels about it.

Very interested. I am looking at getting a DJI Phantom 4 soon, so I would appreciate the chance to learn more here.

I would appreciate a sub forum here for drones, they are gathering in popularity and I'm sure there's a wealth of expertise here to share.

What I have learned is that before a new forum is created, it first needs to be established if there is a need for it. I suggest you start a dedicated Drone Photography thread somewhere, and see how it does.

This, if a thread is created with enough inertia and critical mass then requesting a separate forum would be more feasible.

Well, lets try to gain some momentum in this thread first. I've just gotten my Phantom 3 Standard. I'm not sure its firing on all cylinders yet, the quality of the footage isn't as I expected. I'll post a link for others to have a look at and hopefully tell me where I'm going wrong. It's only a short film of a crop circle, there was other footage but, as I had it in AWB the colours were all over the place.

Well, lets try to gain some momentum in this thread first.

That's probably not a real good idea and for two reasons:

1. this is the Forum Talk forum and gear talk doesn't belong here;
2. you won't generate a lot of traffic here as people who are interested in drone photography will look in the gear section for it, not in Forum Talk.

I suggest you start a new, dedicated Drone Photography thread somewhere in the gear section. Maybe in the Other Digital Cameras forum?

How about the General Photography Talk section?

I'd like to see a dedicated section, so start a thread in General or Other as Levina suggests and post a link from this thread so folks like me will see it.

I have a Phantom 3 Pro, be interested in sharing experiences.

Thanks!

My guess is that you'd have been better off to 'Report' your own thread and ask a moderator to move it to the proper place and rename it. It's not too late.
