For those who haven't heard, LR 6 has been updated to 6.6. It's notably faster all around. Welcomed benefit/update. :)

Mostly browsing/processing, especially when dealing with galleries. The GPU acceleration is finally working as intended. Tony Nothrup has a youtube video about the improvements made (as well as an apparently, minor bug).

I don't think it's enough to make anyone switch over to LR if you're using something else. But if you're using LR already, it's a nice boost. :)

I see a dramatic increase in speed when navigating between photos. However, there was also supposed to be an increase in speed when zoomed into 1:1 and navigating between photos but I do not see an improvement there. It still takes a good 5-6 seconds for the 1:1 photo to fully load. I tested with graphics acceleration on and off on my beefy Win 7 machine.

Excellent.

After the previous update, I have had a significant slowdown while switching between photos in Develop module. I can rapidly move between photos in Library module, but in Develop it feels like it has to re-render the preview every time.

Hopefully this update fixes that.

[edit] oooh, faster Export, that's good for me too.

How is it when using images where you already have 1:1 previews rendered?

The photos I had tested it on already had 1:1 previews, so still takes a good 5-6 seconds for me.

Hmmm. I keep checking and it tells me 6.5.1 is the latest. I'll check the iMac. I upgraded to 6 there first and later on my macbook. Maybe it isn't recognizing the macbook.

Yeah that was it. I haven't been on the iMac in over 3 weeks. I'll have to figure out why the laptop won't update.

Are you using the "check update" function under the "help" section of the menu with LR program open?
