In honor of ‪Shark Week‬ here are my photos that I have taken while with sharks. I have been to Guadalupe Island twice to witness the beauty of the Great Whites that are on this island. I have also dove with Blue and Makos in the waters here in southern California. These are beautiful fish and thanks to the media, people have a very distorted view of sharks.

Just visited your website, excellent pics. I love how clear the water is.
Do you know what the visibility was?

Does someone rate the visibility in the water by measuring somehow? What would affect this rating? I'm guessing pollution?

Visibility due to "stuff" in the water is most effected by organic material (which of course can be increased due to pollution among other factors) and stirred up silt etc.

Visibility for me is measured horizontally. It can be effect for example on the shark dives how much chum is in the water. The chum is will put a lot of particles in the water. Also, at Guadalupe Island, the viz can effect my current and other issues. Hurricanes that pass through the area or nearby can really effect the viz there. I remember a few times the water would be green. A weather system has passed through the area and stirred up everything. I hope this helps.

I'm just afraid of them, plus severe back problems have breve tend me from taking up diving but I've heard conflicting views on weather I would be able to dive some say the pressure of diving makes it worst other say the opposite. I have snorkeled before but not with a camera plus I'm living in the desert now.

Great shot.

I think I can safely say that if I saw this shark the visibility would be affected significantly by ' 'stuff'in the water'!

Great picture!
