I received mine on Thursday June 30, 2016. This camera is quite incredible for it's size. The only two shortcomings I have found are that the macro is no closer than 2" from subject (Not that big a deal with the resolution this shoots in) and not the camera's fault but Canon's is that the charger has an extension cord rather than the flip out plug of past chargers. But there are two chargers being produced by Canon, the one I received with the cord CB-2LHT and the traditional flip out plugin of CB-2LH. Why they didn't put the latter in with the camera just astounds me, I don't want to carry an extension cord with any charger.
But on the flip side the camera has a USB Micro OTG port that if say you have a Samsung phone cord will charge the battery in the camera. The manual excludes this.
UPDATE The macro on this camera is well mediocre. The range is 2" to 1.5'. At 2" the peripherals of the picture are out of focus and what is in focus is mediocre at best. My G12, G16, SX280 and SX700 all have superior (Actually have macro) macro to what this camera has. I couldn't get a clear pic of the tip of a fountain pen with this camera. With any of the previous cameras mentioned it would have not only been excellent, but would have provided detail not visible to the human eye. IT is hard to believe for this money that Canon released this camera and didn't tell anyone about this. I posted a review of this camera on Canon's website and they never published it. Likely because of the intermittent release of this item they don't want anything to interfere with that.
