Yeah I drove down from Aberdeen on Friday and I'm literally just in the door just now, only stayed for Joe McNally today at the Nikon stage and to have a look at some of the wedding albums.

I tried out a few lenses myself, the 35 1.4 II and the 200-400, that was a bad lens to try it, its just so good but way out of my price range.

That was my first time down, a few people said 3 days would be too much, if anything I didn't get to see enough, really enjoyed some of the talks being held, and I went to another masterclass, that was fab, it really was good with the comic con next door, great to be out shooting them, just glad I took the camera with me in the car so I didn't walk round the show all day with all my gear.

i took my 5d4 and a7r2(for filming) and it was a great combo so i could try both e mount and eos mount lenses on the respected cameras.

i saw a few talks as well and missed out on Joe Mcnally as i was already inside on a different talk about documentary and travel photography.
i found the nikon stage small?

It was my first time there and i think maybe 3 days could work if going for the talks rather then the gear. i got bored halfway through my second day looking at gear. i think u only need about a day or less for trying out various gears etc.

Did u go on your own? I went with my missus who brought me the ticket as a valentines gift!

Yeah I know what you're saying, first time for me there so the 3 days was enough for looking at gear, really enjoyed the lighting talks and other talks going on about the place, found some of them really good, especially the one I went to about transitioning from amateur to pro.

Yeah I went on my own, the talks kept me sane and all the reps were really helpful but mostly trying to get a sale.

So what exactly does that allow you to do, and will you use that feature? Not big news for me anyways. If everyone was upset about the 4K cropped video, this doesn't change those attitudes.

I put that onto My Menu along with several other things I use, and then set up My Menu to be the first menu shown when hitting the menu. So Menu -> click Communications Settings -> click Wifi -> Click Enable/Disable. 1 button press and 3 screen presses... Until it is accessible anywhere else, this is about as fast as I can make it, I think.

Anybody know how to disable the sleep mode? Took a quick glance at the manual but did not find it.

I am shooting tethered a lot and if I put the camera down to talk to the client or review images for a while, I think the camera goes on power save mode and loses connection with C1. It's super annoying to get it connected again in the middle of the session and takes a few tries to get it back to where it was.

Just got an email from B&H that the Vello grip will be available soon. It is priced at $88.

Just got mine and I'm surprised how fast the battery drains vs my 10 yo 1D MkIII. I can see it drop 10% in the past 30 mins without really using it.
I see the WIFI lit up in the top window, but have it disabled, I THINK, in the menu. I have Wi-Fi/NFC set to Disable. Am I missing something?

Yeah, the 80D has that. The cumbersome WiFi control was my one minor gripes from the 1st day I got my 5D4. I've since gotten over it, but still... After you turn WiFi on, while browsing photos you can hit Q and there's a button for sending pics to phone. And that's all I got...

It will become normal after a couple of battery charges. My 5D4 and 1DX2 did the same thing, but battery life is now excellent in both. I don't know why the cameras initially had high battery drain.

Image editing ok; C&C always welcome.
