Surely this has been asked.
How do you batch delete items from inbox and outbox.
I just now noticed I have a gabillion items.
Thanks for clues if any.

Robert, both in your inbox and outbox there is a row on the far right where you can select individual pm's to be deleted (check the boxes) and then simply hit the "Delete Selected" button at the bottom of the page.

What I seem to have forgotten in PM, is how to create custom folders. I have 5 of them now and nowhere do I see an option to create more.

There's a button "Edit custom folders". According to the popup, you can edit 5 custom folder names. "Empty" folder names won't show when viewing custom folders.
So I guess the maximum is five custom folders.

I have 5 custom folders and in the pop-up window all it says is "Drag&Drop PM's to folders below" without any indication that 5 folders are the limit. But I'm sure you are right and 5 is the limit. I wish I could have more though.

This is a partial PM page, with two buttons, "EDIT CUSTOM FOLDERS" and "OPEN A POPUP WITH CUSTOM FOLDERS" (for the drag and drop). In reality only one popup at a time
If it's important: Google Chrome / Windows 10 Home desktop.
I opened 5 numbered custom folders and they appeared under the inbox | outbox | drafts line.
The two buttons were still visible, and I "edited custom folders", clearing the names, so they're not on this image.
So it works on my browser.

Yes, but that's not my point. I made 5 custom folders ages ago, named them and used them and now all I wanted to do was to create a few more custom folders and couldn't, hence my question here. However, I had forgotten there were only 5 empty fields at the time, no more, so that in fact you can't have more than 5 custom folders, which is a pity because I need more than my present 5 custom folders in pm.

I guess I just misunderstood

...in the pop-up window all it says is "Drag&Drop PM's to folders below" without any indication that 5 folders are the limit.

to mean that you didn't get the Edit Custom Folders button. Because that popup does indeed show only 5 fields to name folders. My mistake.

Oh, but your post was most helpful in that it reminded me of what I had forgotten: that there were only 5 empty fields to begin with and that the reason I couldn't find a way to create more custom folders beyond the 5 I already have, is because there isn't! So thank you!
