yes I'm a bit surprised they would double the price from the original em1. in canada the projected price is nearly double the em1 price, seriously WTF.

Hello, everyone. I have been attending PPA this past few days and spent lots of time at the Olympus booth with the Mark II. I must say, it is a fantastic camera. Focus truly is lightning fast and deadly accurate. The camera is light and ergonomic to hold. I preferred it without the battery grip, ymmv. The lens are excellent, also ergonomic and light. They set up a wide variety of demos and folks were allowed to take a camera and photograph to their hearts content, with staff available to help users and answer questions.

It is godawful expensive and when you add in the cost of lenses, it'll make my savings account cry. But I am serious considering this camera for a future purchase. I think it is superb. I was thinking about the Fuji XT-2, which is also quite good ( and I spent plenty of time at their booth, too) but I think the O has a slight edge.

I think both are good cameras.

For IQ, I would go with the Fuji.

For mobility, I would go with the Olympus. but the cost...............

Agreed. The cost is amazing and not in a good way.

About a 40% increase, based on launch price.

Kind regards, Wim

It is a professional camera. It is more advanced than most Pro cameras. From that POV, the price is quite reasonable.

For me, it replaces my old FF, I can print 60cm x 90 cm images from it, no prob.

My current FF equipment will become my new MF equipement :).

Kind regards, Wim

Went to the zoo yesterday and found two people using the Mark II. One had the E-M5 and the other had the E-M1. I chatted with them both and both told me they were very happy with the cameras. Lighter and just as easy to use. I would like to purchase an EM5 Mark II eventually but it won't happen soon.
