It's supposed to be slightly softer than buttercream and should set firm.
It was intended to be a cherry brandy gateaux and would have been finished with a whipped cream and chestnut puree mousse with a sprinkle of chopped walnuts.

I failed and am ashamed but I have to face my problems,
I should be mocked.

Looks ganachey to me. Of course I have not had lunch yet and even a Jack in the Box piece of cardboard looks pretty good to me right now. Heck, I'd settle for a bag of sliders.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Sliders are only good at 3:00am when really drunk and you need to get some food and coffee in you so you can drive home. :p

Some of you may have heard of the term "glossing over".
Well here's an example.
My cake fail wearing a coat of chestnut puree and cream with chopped walnuts.
