I didn't see a pizza specific thread so I'll put these here. One of my favorite things to shoot, I'd venture a guess that I've shot thousands over the years for advertising/packaging/POP, etc. I don't typically keep track of final images but the client was kind enough to send these along recently. To tell the truth, I'd completely forgotten about them  These were used as billboards, bus graphics and bus shelter wraps.

Looks tasty but, the pizza isn't really on that background is it?

Or, the background has had a bit of dodge, burn.

LH, the background might be black stone lightly dusted with flour.

The pizza looks good. In the third picture, one partial slice of pepperoni seems to have slipped after cutting; it spans the gap.

I have to wonder about the artist's decision to choose such a small font for the brand name. Billboards and buses are often viewed briefly. Unless you're the only game in town, you need to make your name memorable in ads.

The copy added to the first image reads "A little body that reps big flavor"...do you think it is supposed to read "reaps" and not "reps"?

We shot the original pizzas on black slate. The ad agency then did the post work dropping them onto a surface partly made up of ours and something sourced elsewhere. These particular versions were in-store signage and social media postings where the billboard and bus graphic designs were slightly different in layout, copy and designs. Oh Look- Funny that you should mention the pepperoni...despite the fact that I'd almost forgotten that we'd even done these images, I do remember very specifically the A.D. fussing a little about including an extra piece of pepperoni, which he found 'quirky' and 'real'. ;-)a

IIRC, there was an entire catalog of ad copy that played off of different 'themes' and featured different pizzas. I *think* this one was part of a 'gym/working out' theme which probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense on it's own.

I grabbed 3 somewhat randomly, that represented a few different pizzas, but the client sent dozens of the same pizzas in different layout/theme/copy etc.
