Looks very noisy. What was the EXIF> (not embedded).?

Or was it under exposed and brought up?

All in all not the greatest shot ever taken. The the group is lookin serious and the groom is goofing off. the lady in blue is looking the wrong way (not at you the photog) There are very harsh shadows and way too much grain for a colour photo. Try it in b&w with some PS it should make an OK image. I have seen better from you though. Oh yeah, also you got lucky, very lucky be aware of glass glare. Have the Man with the glasses tilt his head down just a tad or have him pull his glasses down just a bit. Your flash just caught the top of his glasses. With a flash you should have gotten better exposure they you did. Check the camera setting. Good luck and keep it up.

This one was way underexposed. I know it is not very good, but the groom looked like he was whispering to his wife so I made up the caption. I was just trying to be funny. This picture was a throw away. ...Bob

In the UK, the groom would normally stand to the right of his bride in a formal pose - historically so his sword hand remains free - is this not so elsewhere?

I ask people to stand wherever they're comfortable. I just checked out my last few weddings, they stand wherever they like.

i have never heard of "Placing" people in the right spots for family formals...i guess Australia isn't very traditional, but im sure there is a way with some religions etc. but ive never heard of it before - could be true for the years of swords and knights and queens etc. maybe so that he has his sword handy in case she cheated on him before the wedding and he can with one swipe OFF WITH HER HEAD in the photo's! (Did they have photography in the 1700's? i thought it came in around late 1800's?) my social studies is crap by the way so im probably SO WRONG with this!

As you look down the aisle toward the altar area, the grooms side is on the right and the brides side is on the left ans it was during the ceremony. In this picture they are lined up as they were during the wedding. ...Bob

Yeah, same here in the UK - but as they're normally facing forwards for the service that also puts the groom on the bride's right side unless they turn around to face back (as in your photo).

Please don't misunderstand - I'm not trying to start any argument here - just genuinely interested if it's a UK-only thing.

Historically, groom keeps right hand free so he can protect his bride, not chop her head off Del . It's the same reason why spiral staircases in castles wind a certain way - gives advantage to right-handed swordsman defending his property.

Rob, that is very interesting to know. We have a similar tradition here in the US. If a man and a woman are walking down the street the man is always the one closest to the street. That way if a car comes by and splashes mud it will land on the man and not the lady. ...Bob
