I've been shooting a long time - newspapers and magazines for about 25 years but stepped away in 2010 and now working in the medical field. Been shooting for myself in the meantime, but now I'd like to start shooting a bit to make a bit of money again. Working in a hospital, there are lots of young people getting engaged, married, babies, etc ... so after thinking about it for a few years, finally got off my butt and started talking to a few folks. Madison is a fairly new nurse on the unit I most often work and I had the honor to work with her and Anthony for my first ever engagement shoot. She was happy with what I've shown her and it was a learning process for me - but overall fairly pleased with the results. So, here are a few ...

Chicken dinner. I think you nailed it. Love the environmental shots.

17-40 f4, 50 f1.4, 85 f1.8, 70-200 f2.8... Looks like you missed your gear so much you tried to use as many lenses as you could! Great work Jeffry! It'd be great if you had an assistant by hand holding a reflector to illuminate those faces a tiny bit more!

Thanks! But you missed the Tamron 35 1.8ߘ Seriously though the gear is all new to me (although I have used Canon extensively in the past so using it wasn't new.) I wanted to see what worked in this scenario. What I found prompted me to return the 35 1.8 and sell the 17-40 and buy a Sigma 24-35 f2 (ordered it today so hope it lives up to the hype).

I have purchased reflectors and did bring my kids to hold them, but didn't take advantage of it. I've always been good at natural light, but adding light I'm practicing still (lots of shots of the kids using different techniques).

Beautiful set. #2 has a voyeuristic feel that makes it "pop" IMO. 1 and 5 are simply spectacular! Kudos!
