Last night, ULA launched the ninth satellite in the Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) system. To date, WGS has supported tactical communications for the United States, Canadian and Australian militaries; as well as communications for the White House and State Department. This latest addition to the constellation adds New Zealand, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg to the list of users.

Liftoff occurred at 8:18pm, after a short delay caused by an alarm on the launch pad's swing arm.

Those lens specs means you had to be awfully close to that while it was taking off. Unless they were operated remotely but still, the heat alone from that thing had to be pretty intense. Looks like a few different cameras were used.

Spectacular shots nonetheless.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.
You're a ghost driving a meat-coated skeleton made from stardust, riding a rock, hurtling through space. Fear Nothing!
