Do you have one of the chief nail jumping up and down on the hammer in an ecstasy of triumph?

I know it's tempting. When I shot this I kept hearing drums and the natives chanting "kong, kong". But I am shooting these in film too, so I am keeping them simple because I want to make silver gelatin prints and there are not as many post options in analog.

I like these.

I imagine it takes you a fair amount of time to set these up.

So the nails have captured the hammer........not sure I understand where all of the little wood chips have come from.

Just saw these two and then had a peek at the others in the series - really liking the creativity and storytelling you're using in these photos. A very neat and well execute concept!

Tools of the trade: Canon 400D, Canon 7D, Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS L M2, Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 OS, Canon MPE 65mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro, Tamron 24-70mm f2.4, Sigma 70mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 8-16mm f4.5-5.6, Raynox DCR 250, loads of teleconverters and a flashy thingy too

The set up on these was probably no more than 20 minutes per scene. Post processing was less then 5 min per shot.

The wood chips are from pre-drilling the holes I stuck the nails in. I thought it added some interesting texture to the shots so I left it. I thought it showed the struggle of the nails "kicking up dirt". All the scenes have this element.

Well, the hammer was so frightened when it was caught by surprise that it . . .

Now ya' got me hooked............got me thinking up scenarios........

Add my kudos to the list and no I'm not creating my own hammer and nail shoot.........

Somewhere in the Food Photography forum is a shot of an egg terrified by a whisk, I think it was. I couldn't find it in a few minutes' search.

I was thinking eggs and a beater would be good before I started this. But I already did eggs in a series

I found the "nervous egg" photo. It's Lupo-Lobo's.

This is a great series. I really like the concept. Do you have an idea for the next set? Perhaps the nails may enlist the help of other tools :p
