Good move by Sony releasing a 100-400 GM along with it.

I sure hope so. Actually, Nikon had theirs earlier when Sony moved into the number 2 sales slot but I hope the Canon guys are taking note and stop re-releasing their warmed over stuff with a new feature or two. Time to shake things up Canon.

Impressive. A joystick! Might try it out with next year's budget if we can get an Artisan we know to sponsor us into the Pro support tier.

Edit: Oh, looks like Pro services even with sponsorship and membership is still under Precision Cameras in CT. Meh. Anyone know if this is still the case?

The specs look fascinating. Of course, some of them like 1/32000 shutter speed and 693 focus points may be overkill. The proof will be in the images. And of course 20 fps would be incredible assuming the AF system will yield consistently sharp results at that frame rate. I hope it all works well since it will raise the bar for every other maker, and much of that technology will trickle down to more affordable models over the next few years.

Whether or not this body will overtake Canon or Nikon on the professional level is iffy at this point. I read the same prognostication for the A7r II when it first came out, and that didn't happen. There are lots of factors that go into choosing a professional camera

I am salivating, and I have no idea how to pitch this to her :D

Edit: It probably means that A7R III is coming with dual card slots, improved focussing and better battery life. My time to jump the fence is probably coming.

Their sensor is miles ahead of Canon's. Sad to say :-(

Well, considering that it's competing with the 1DXII and the Nikon D5, it's a bargain.
