I am quite positive that I would not want to be on the end of that ladder on the ladder truck. Yikes!

Likewise.

They have a lot of guts.
Add in in fatigue, wind, flames, smoke, heat, and slipperiness from water and possibly in nighttime conditions; their courage is amazing.

Hello Joeseph,

My reply to you is so late because I am still bogged down reviewing images that I took at a sporting event, and I did not see your post until today.
Sorry about that!

This was an actual fire that regretfully consumed someone's home.
In this area of the small town of Spencer, Massachusetts, USA, the houses are very, very close to one another.
The residents of the house were not hurt, but three firefighters went to a local hospital.

I had a camera at hand because I was photographing a sporting event in the area, earlier in the day.
I donated one of images to the local newspaper, and they used it in a report on the fire:

http://www.telegram.com …ire-destroys-spencer-home (external link)

Yesterday, I delivered to their fire department, a good-sized print for the firefighter depicted for him or his family, and also a USB drive with some 60 images from this fire.
The thinking is that they may be able to use the images firefighter training purposes, or for other uses.

Those same images are on my Flickr page, which you can access if you look for the link to an album, under each image.

These images may depict how close the homes are, and the limited area that the firefighters have to maneuver:

I sure hope and trust all firefighters will be safe while fighting the fire. Looks like a bad one.

Bad and getting worse. So far the cause is thought to be fireworks! This is one of the most beautiful and heavily traveled places in the Gorge and some jackass has ruined it for a generation. Absolutely heartbreaking.

Damn! I hope they are able to catch whoever did this then throw away the key!
