....and I've seen it snow at Roan High Knob in July.

It snowed this year in May...a friend lives in Johnson City and was on Round Bald recording it snowing...not a little...but a LOT!

I rarely do this but here is the original RAW image. I wanted to see how far I could take a single exposure to try achieve a fairly natural final image using mostly LR CC.

Great processing of a beautiful image. The flock of birds really puts an exclamation point on it too!

Can anyone answer this question; if I had a 24mm on the a7rII and use it it on crop mode does it do x 1.5 so 24 would be around 35mm.
Does it also degrade image or change the aperture at all?

Just trying to figure out if I should get the 24mm, (love the 35mm focal length) but can use the 24mm for wide and crop to 35mm for that focal length
Thanks guys!

I paid a visit to the Auckland War Memorial Museum on the way home from work today.

Absolutely loving the Batis 18. I'm finding that I am having to edit less with this lens, just love it, although its made me want more quality glass :)

Which 24 are you referring to? The 24mm f/2? That's an A-mount. The 24mm f/1.8? That's for APS-C.

If you shoot it in crop mode it'll drop to around 18mp. AF should be the same, equivalent aperture should be the same.

Yep 18MP in crop mode, light gathering ability the same (I.e f/1-8 is still f/1.8 but effective dof changes and will be as if you are shooting a slower lens

The A7Rii has an amazing sensor when it comes to push and pull ;)

Yes is sure does!

TRhoads wrote in post #18403778 (external link)
it really is amazing what is possible...I think I have had to blend one or two images in the 19 months I have been shooting Sony...it has really made the workflow much easier and less time consuming. Great shot BTW, love the little hints of color in the sky.

Thank you I agree. This sensor is crazy good.

Love the war museum, especially the image with the canon seemingly coming up my nose! Well this thread will always leave us wanting more quality glass. My filter thread adapter and filter holder arrived for the B18 today....me thinking at first just for the Sharpstar but I might consider some other filters down the road.

My way of looking at it that with the A7Rii you have two lenses anytime you have one lens attached. 18mp is often way enough....sometimes not.

I'm so slack in macro this year but part of it is the lack of bugs that I'm just recently realizing is my fault=bring in all the song birds and the bug population plummets. The Bluebirds must catch their body weight over a day or two and our Bluebirds double nested this year so twice the number of bugs eaten :(
Anyway this is my first Honeybee of the year and using the Meike metal extension tube--AF was not affected at all-
