My first 3 are girls. If the boy had come sooner we would have stopped sooner. He takes all my energy. The girls were never like him. When he was born the oldest was 4 for another 6 weeks so we really packed them in. Now I spend most of my time yelling at them to stop fighting. Still probably wouldn’t trade it for anything. But they teach you the meaning of being selfless. I rarely get to put myself first for more than an hour at a time a few times a week at best.

My problem is I feel so stressed by work that I have little patience for them. It’s hard to remember that they are just kids. All our baby sitters say our kids are the best behaved that they sit for. I often wonder if they are watching different kids.

Playing around with beer lighting today. I placed a strip box on either side of the bottle of Stella Artois on my home bar and a 3rd light behind and snooted. I also had my bar lights on. With the camera set on manual exposure, I reduced the shutter speed to darken the ambient light and tweaked the side and back flashes to what I thought looked OK. To keep the busy background from overpowering the bottle of beer, I used the fast aperture of my Sigma 35 Art lens wide open at f1.4 to blur it out.

Here's the finished shot and a behind the scenes view too.

After a trip to the mall and a quick visit to the Apple Store, I’m suddenly interested in the DJI Osmo for my iPhone X. Looks pretty neat, it’ll allow me to utilize my 256GB storage and a quick check online shows it being $299 new but $159 in DJI’s refurb site. Anyone else use this or a similar phone gimbal?

Thanks. I have 3 Nissin Di700A and 1 i60A flashes with the Air 1 Commander to control them wirelessly. Other members here swear by the Godox system.

Here's a 'family portrait' I took of two of mine.

I looked at the Nissin when I swapped over, but in the end went for the Godox As they have the flexibility for strobes. I think I’ll have a look at either the 860’s or even the ad200. I think the TT350 May be a little underpowered for fill a softbox

Simply moving a few yards to the left or right would align the plane. Looks like you live in a great place for this kind of shot!

I'm digging the plane size in relation to the moon. Not too small, and not too big. For day time, simply being close to the moon can create a cool image.

I didn't even know the plane was there until the camera focused in on the moon...and there it was. For an equivalent of 1200mm, I'm pretty happy to have gotten what I did.

I’m using the 350s indoors and they are plenty powerful. Outdoors you may need something bigger

took a break from editing other stuff to edit one from today's trip to Old Car City. Such a cool, odd and fun place to wander around. I had all my gear with me, and only used two lenses, the CV12 and the FE 90 Macro I have on loan...that lens is a nice macro lens. On par with the 100L IMO. I really enjoyed working with it...

So I'm trying to squash my GAS. A bit of history, I had the 5D4 with 35L, 50L, 85L, 135L (and some zooms that are travel lenses) Then I got the 35 IS so I could shoot some video with the 5D4. Then I went off the rails and got the A7R ii. First I just had the FE 50, then I got the Batis 25 and the FE 85. Somewhere along the way I sold the 35L and got the Sigma 35A with MC-11. Continuing to be indecisive and needing some cash, I sold the 35A. I have also sold the 135L as I wasn't using it much.

So as of now I have the 35 IS, 50L and 85L for the 5D4 and the B25, FE 50 and FE 85 for the A7Rii. Now I love the 35mm FL. I thought 25 would work but it's not. So I've got 3 or 4 thoughts. I like the B25 for landscapes, but haven't found myself using it a ton, so I could sell it. Use the proceeds toward the Zeiss 35/2.8, FE 28 (though still worry this would be too wide), Zeiss 35/1.4, or the Sig 35A (with the added benefit of working with both cameras.) I've also found myself living with 50mm on both cameras lately without a faster 35 on hand. Which leaves me thinking about a faster 50 for the Sony...

I love the 1.4's, but something has been striking me with the slightly slower Sony glass is the size and weight. The Sonnar 35/2.8 looks very appealing on this count.

I know these posts rarely going anywhere and we all do what we are going to do, but just thought a little conversation might help. I really like this group and value your input.

I have the FE 35 f2.8 and really like it for its tiny size. Most times I use it, a fast aperture isn't a priority. If you do like fast lenses, you might consider the Sigma 35 f 1.4 Art lens and Metabones IV adapter. I know the adapter is expensive but just think, it will allow you to use your Canon lenses with the Sony body. Of course, if you go with something like the Sigma, small size and lightweight go out the window.
