So what are everyone's thoughts?

Weather sealing is an nice touch, but I think it's is kind of stupid for canon to omit 4K especially on a body with a 5 year expected lifespan based on how long the original 6D has been around. I have no problems with just 1080P for my few amateur video moments but if I were a YouTuber or other avid video person, this would be a big issue.

Single SD card is silly too. It's not going to stop me from getting one on it's own but the other lacking features like 1/180" synch, 1/4000" shutter and less than 100% viewfinder along with that makes me think I should be saving a little more and picking up a 5D4

Still this checks off a lot of boxes for what I want in an upgrade to my 7D and it comes $1200 cheaper than a 5D4. Might be a good option for an amateur like me.

I'm going to be waiting for the reviews to come out. Primarily interested in how great of an improvement they've made in dynamic range, and noise levels. If they've gotten it up there with Nikon and Sony I might be buying one. There other things, the dual cards, 4K, not really important to me.

Waiting for an owners manual to download and read!
Wonder how many if any of the 45 focus points are able to focus at F8?
Sounds like a real improvement to my 6D.

I wonder if it has anti-flicker like many of the new Canons now have. That is one feature that the write up on B&H did not mention. That is one feature I really like on the 7d Mark II.

HERE (external link) they tell you many features of the 6dmkII, looks very promising, needed an upgrade and I was thinking of a 5d mkIII but the 6d mkII may be it.

Canon's "job" is to get as much of your money as possible, so if you are seriously contemplating a 5D4 instead, because of the disabled features of the new 6D, then it looks like Canon has designed the camera perfectly.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "peace of mind", NOT "piece of mind".

From the digital picture...

While groups G and H have the least AF system support, things are better than they seem. Most of the lenses included in these groups are actually lens plus extender combinations with maximum apertures of f/8. That the 6D Mark II features AF with f/8 maximum aperture lens combinations is really big news; it is the first camera in this category to do so.

Especially valuable to wildlife photographers, an extender can be mounted behind a lens, creating an f/8 max aperture, and AF is retained. Depending on the combination, the vertically centered 27 AF points (category G) or the center AF point-only (category H) is activated. Again, see the owner's manual for the specific combinations supported.

touch-screen - flippy screen - 45 cross points - DPAF for LV & video - 6.5 fps - anti-flicker
When I bought this camera last November, it was called the 80D.

The 6DII would be a nice upgrade, if I didn't already have all of its features - in two different (6D/80D), suddenly worth less (not worthless) bodies.

Does this (and the 5D4) mean Canon is going to make more EF STM lenses?
