David, do you still own the lens? The batis 135, that is.

I do. And I absolutely love it and highly recommend it. Probably my favorite lens. You remind me that I need to post more stuff here!

Wow! Love what you're doing with it. Looks like a winner lens, too.

I just don't think I'd get a lot of use out of the focal length. But you make a very convincing argument with these images. :-)

Thanks! And I’ll be totally candid and say I thought the same thing. I’m more of a 35mm guy, but I’ll go out on a photography outing challenging myself to just use the 135mm and always come home really happy.

I used to own the superb Zeiss Apo Sonnar T* 2/135mm ZE. I bought and sold it twice...but it never held my favor. Too heavy and cumbersome I think. The Batis, though, is lightweight and has AF and IS. It’s a stop slower, but just as excellent optically. Now, it’s part of my trio of stellar AF primes (along with Sony Zeiss 35mm 1.4 and Batis 85mm).

Really want this lens! I'm finding the Rokinon a bit hard to nail sharp focus on the fly, even with Peaking.

I highly recommend it! And now is the perfect time to score one; it’s on sale for $300 off. https://www.bhphotovideo.com ...tis_135mm_f_2_8_lens.html (external link)

I bought mine used for that price. :)

I had enough credit left with Adorama. I couldn't resist - I ordered one. Light weight and IS is what sold me the most. Lower price didn't hurt, either. Not in stock currently, but should be in stock soon.

David, I hope to do half as well as you have with it. Per your recommendation, I am going to challenge myself in the new year to use this focal length more.

I'm tapped with the Holidays and all the other Glass I have purchased for my new a9. I'll have to wait until taxes comes through (fingers crossed).

This is great! Looking forward to your work with the lens and it just makes me want to get out and shoot mine all the more. :)
