I was at Joshua Tree this past Saturday night, and I wanted to get a pano in the Cholla Cactus garden.

12 image stitch for the sky.
12 image stitch for the chollas in the foreground.

Pano merged sky and chollas separately in Lightroom.
Blended the two images in Photoshop.

Rokinon 24mm F/1.4

F/1.4, 20 secs, ISO 1600 for sky.
F/8, 8 secs, ISO 400, light painted for chollas.

There were some monsoons happening in the distance. I managed to capture some lighting in one of the clouds in the middle of the image just above that center cholla.

Great shot!! I have a hard time comprehending how even the best software can merge 12 long exposures like this, especially with all the details (tons of stars!) It really is impressive. Well done!
