that light coming through the trees is great! buuuuut it really take away from the subject. That other image of yours brings you eye to the model because of color but in this your eye is drawn away from the model. Your subject needs to (generally) be the brightest, biggest or sharpest thing in the image.

I usually don't offer commentary or subjective critique on images posted on POTN because so much is subjective likes or dislikes of the viewer, but I just had to comment on your photo...

Very STRIKING!

He did title the image "Sunlight" which could be viewed as the main theme, with the girl as a secondary element in the photograph to the sunlight. In that context, I think the 'obscuring' of the girl is appropriately done, she is a contribution and not the main element of the theme.

Yeah I get what you are saying but she dosn't match or contrast the quality of the sunlight. It's kindof a mismatch. The tree has highlights midtones and black but the model is primaraly just midtones (apart from a slight kicker) lost in the midtones of the grass and log. I think matching the sun ei hitting her with a equally dramatic light or possable if he/she got lower and frames the model against a highlight creating silhouette the image would be stronger.
