POTN G-series Speed Challenge #655 - Glass

Anything where glass is clearly the main subject. Windows? Sculptures? Eyeglasses? Tableware? A tip: I really don't get turned on by photos of glass-sided office buildings and similar architecture.

***************
RESULTS

Just a few comments...

Jim - "A basket of Jars": Looks much like a corner of my basement except your jars look like antiques and worth more than my lot - and probably worth posing in a more artistic arrangement.

Maureen - "Martini Time": Composed and lit for immediate impact on the viewer - a really excellent job.

Carolyn - "10 Below Zero". Good to see this wine, produced just one valley over from where I live, is available as far away as Glasgow. Or were you visiting here? Whatever, enjoy!

HogansHeroes - "Stained Glass": I was expecting to see someone enter stained glass and I like that you found something different from church windows. Where is this?

Carlo - "A Glorious Past": Like the lighting effect and that it still works, like the Edison bulb I have - an even older one with a pointy end.

WINNERS

#1 Maureen - I think everyone will agree on this choice
#2 Carlo
#3 Carolyn

Congratulations Maureen and Carlo - both stunning entries and worthy winners.
Thanks Teekay for Hosting and judging.
Niagara on the Lake is my favourite place - when I win the Lottery I'm moving over! We've visited Canada 3 times now so this was taken during our last visit to NOTL and a trip to the Peller Estate. Our Ice Wine used to be solely bottles bought and brought home to Glasgow but lucky for us, in the last few years we have been able to purchase both Trius and Pillitteri Ice wines over here. It's a special Christmas Treat only available for a few weeks in the run up to it!

Thanks for hosting this week, Teekay. Ya know, sometimes you just go to take a simple picture & it turns into something you don't expect. The background was my dark living room which I darkened further but the glass was sitting on my Corian countertop which is blue-green with black & white specks. I desaturated the color of it which left only the white specks. No flash involved, just a slow shutter speed. The whole thing from shot to PP took less than 5 minutes.

Carolyn, we love NOTL as well & went last summer. I have been there 3 times & love it. Great shot of the ice wines....I thought yours or Carlos might be the winner this week. Great entries from everyone. Carlo, the light bulb is just awesome!

I will have something up later this afternoon.

I live and learn! I had no idea what NOTL stood for or that Peller Estate Ice Wine was made there or that they had a winery anywhere else but where they started here in British Columbia's Okanagan Valley (which is the "one valley over" that I mentioned).
