I haven't made a CD since the early 2000's but I did a shoot and the company is wanting a CD. I have 471 photos from my 5D3 that's roughly 5GB. Will a CD hold that? I'm considering buying a memory stick instead if they'll accept it.

Not a CD which is still limited to about 800 MB.

DVD's may handle the situation, assuming you and your client have proper capability.

Single-layer, single-sided 4.7GB
Single-layer, double-sided 9.4GB
Dual-layer; single-sided 8.5GB
Dual-layer, double-sided 17GB

Best to just buy a cheap memory stick. Best Buy has a Sandisk 8 GB for $5. See https://www.bestbuy.com ...k/9226777.p?skuId=9226777 (external link). If you don't have a Best Buy nearby Staples, which is a few bucks more ($8), will likely do a price match. Just print out the Best Buy page and take it with you.

Thank you, I explained it to her so she agreed on the memory stick.

CD. Ah, the joys of dealing with people whose tech knowledge hasn't advanced since 1996. I occasionally get "Can you fax me?" but they say email is OK when I tell them I haven't had a fax machine in 20 years.
