I decided to buy this today. I've watched videos on it over the past few days and I have to say it's very familiar and acts like PS in many ways.
There are things I'm not up to speed on and other things I like over PS so far.

I grabbed an old image and tried a quick composite just to see how the selection/masking works and I like it better than PS and it's even on par to Remask 5.

Only spent about 20min on the below photo and not really done with it but figure it's decent enough to show..
I edited the RAW in Affinity, masked her off a neutral background. Used Affinity's Freq Sep filter to clean up her skin and then used the Lighting filter to add a bit of drama.

Problems to me, no auto lens corrections for m43 lenses and no DAM. Definitely not one stop shopping.

Good looking composite.

Purchased when it first came out, but have not used it much, couple of times.
Thought it slow to open my raw files.

Found it very similar to Photoshop.

Probably an update came out since I purchased ... have to check.

lol. It won't fold the laundry either.

It costs 50 bucks one time price. Kinda hard to expect it to be one stop shopping.

On the contrary, they said they are working on one. That remains to be proven.

I started using Affinity Photo, so far I'm liking what can be done. It seems to fill the PS void for me.

Since Adobe just revealed there will not be any further perpetual LR versions, I think now would be a great time for Affinity to push hard on getting a DAM released.

i doubt they would include it with the Photo app.

I like Affinity, especially for the $50 one time price tag. For me since I only do basic editing and not some of the more complex stuff, it works quite well.

Anyone using Affinity Photo for the Photoshop component and something like ACDSEE for the Lightroom/cataloging component? If so, do they play nicely together?

I'm using Faststone viewer in Windows with Affinity Photo, they work well together.

I've also used XNView and ACDCEE. I like a little more Faststone.

For me things missing

end to end non-destructive flow. Now you render our of Raw module to go to Photos Module.

DAM promised by never delivered

color range masking to go with luminosity masking (via blend modes)

Affinity Photo, which I have been using since their Windows version first came out in beta, is a Photoshop replacement; it is not an end-to-end Lightroom replacement. If you are looking for an end-to-end solution right now, you are stuck with LR and Adobe's very profitable (for them) subscription model.

I use IMatch for DAM (excellent product btw), FastStone for quick browsing, PhotoNinja as my RAW processor (although I have been experimenting with Affinity's RAW processing and HDR set processing), and QImage for printing. Affinity is used, along with the NIK Collection, for those images I wish to further experiment with. They all work well together with IMatch serving as the glue point for the other applications.

why does their save history method not meet your needs?
