Did a little video on the topic of whether or not we should upload our photographs to Houzz. If you look at how Houzz is able to monetize your photos in numerous ways, the answer is a resounding “no”.

Great Video, Thanks for sharing. I had no idea that people couple embed your images from Houzz! I'll rethink using Houzz now in the future

Why would you put your pictures on their site in the first place? Are they paying you initially?

Don't understand WHY any photographer would allow their photos on the site?
What is the payment the photographer gets?
The site doesn't exist without the photos.

Am I missing something? ( it wouldn't be the first time :-) )

Thanks for the comments. I agree with you all that it isn’t wise to post to houzz. The reason most people do is to expand their client list. This is a valid reason but I feel there are too many drawbacks, and that is why I proposed using houzz but uploading watermarked images.

As was mentioned, houzz is built on interiors photos. It would seriously be like a Major League Baseball team not having to pay any of its baseball players. The site is built around the eye candy of these professional images yet they do not pay a penny to photographers even when they sell something directly from clicks on the photos. It’s complete,y ludicrous.
