Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is It's A-Peeling. As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

Show us what you think is A-Peeling!

Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between Monday Sunset and the following Monday by Sunset (Whenever that is for you ). Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e. embedding them) but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: IMAGE POSTING RULES
That's it! Have fun! As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK INDEX

That's it!
Have fun!

Great theme, Joayne!

I thought of a different type of peel(ing). I think it is...

Two takes. I just wish I had a better looking pencil sharpener!

And a super macro, taken with the 50/1.8 mounted on the camera and an old vintage 135mm reversed on that. I painted away the strong vignetting (a black circle really) in Photoshop.

Yup, Levina, that's "Apeeling"!
I especially like the graphite in the second image.

Thanks, Jo!
I'm surprised the second shot worked at all as I was shooting this hand held, with two lenses (one reversed on the other) and a shutter speed of 1/6s! :-P

Yeah, the 50mm was the one mounted on the camera, so that one is in the exif. The other lens was a vintage lens, the Rokinon 135mm f/something that I held up reversed. There are actually special reversal rings you can buy for this. They're like filters that you can screw between the two lenses (or between lens and camera if you're using just one -reversed- lens). It's like a poor man's macro lens. But sometimes it works pretty well. You just have to be on top of your subject. I mean, really on top, just about touching it. It's crazy. No idea how I managed that shot. I really do need to get me a proper macro lens!

Thanks, Stina. I shot it last night using an office lamp and after colour correcting the shot, I decided I liked the warmer colours better after all. I'm glad it was the right decision! :-P
