Nicely exposed and framed, but these lean pretty far towards a funky WB issue?

I know what do you suggest? This is one of the hardest lit venues that I shoot at. They seem to use only blue or red LED's! I only used the fastest lenses I have, I can't get much out of a f/2.8 zoom so I stick mostly to the f/1.2 and f/1.4 primes I have. Processing is another story, I can't seem to get it right. I thought it's just that there's not enough color data there so if you have any suggestions. We have a few other staff photographers that commented to me how good they thought I got it in comparison to their shots. Yes their's are worse but I'm still not happy with mine...

Perhaps reduce your Vibrance and Saturation just a tad?

If it could only be that simple, I'll give it a shot. I'm working on a new technique (for me at least) to make a copy of the layer, invert it to the opposite color spectrum (Image>Adjustments>Invert in Photoshop) and then use the color blend mode. When you do this and set the Opacity to 50% the two layers pretty much wash each other out giving you almost a black and white version but the colors are all still there you just don't see much of them because of the opposite colors are blending evenly at 50% opacity. From there you can adjust the Opacity +/- to either side of the 50% to bring in the colors on opposite sides of the spectrum. I'm getting some great results with the washed out LED colors you get from poorly lit rooms. If I can find the time I'll work on these photo's again, right now I'm 3 music festivals behind at about 3,000 shots each festival!

Love to see some examples of that process. Sounds interesting.

Hmmm, yeah I guess if the lighting leans that far to the red spectrum I just b/w converts, but perhaps you need to deliver colour shots? In that case I like your technique above!

Many times for me it's the extreme Magenta lighting that I get or Blue also but either way if there's one color that overpowers everything it's a problem. I've always salvaged what I can by converting to B&W but this is a technique that allows you to save those shots and still get decent color out of them. It's getting worse with all the LED lighting being used now, especially in the smaller clubs because they are cheaper and draw much less power but the lighting out of them sucks. If you can get the lighting person to use several colors at the same time you can get much better pictures but most of these small bars don't seem to care, they think the mood is better with only 1 color at a time...

I agree, it's getting worse and worse. I would love to see a new club NOT buy LED lighting - they would really stand out as different from the bunch!

Here is a before and after shot using the technique I noted above. It's far from perfect and I'm still working on improving this technique but it's a good improvement on what I've been using in the past with Color Balance, Select Color, Saturation and Curves adjustments alone.

Thanks, I've got it down to where it only takes me less than a minute to do this now so it's becoming quite effective.

Shame you can't do it in LR with a couple clicks? PS is a little more a lengthy process for me (possibly not for you).
