My wife needs an I pad to run a certain necessary app. No other option available. We have home broadband, and mobile phone plans. However, the pad will only be used at home or in friends homes with Wi-Fi. The plans are about £26 mth for 24 mths and come with 20Gb data. £649 for a basic 9.7" model. My question is this: What's the point in getting the deal if we already have unlimited broadband? That saves £175 or more just hooking up to our home bband. Is there a reason to get a deal other than pay in installments?
Regards
Col.

In most occasions, it now makes sense to get the wifi model and forego the wifi + 4G. Only exception is if you did want to just work from the iPad un-tethered from wifi/phone or you wanted to finance from your phone provider. I've never felt limited with my iPad just being wifi: most times it is connected via wifi, and I can have a hotspot wifi tether with my phone. So if you really wanted to shop around, you could also compare the price of the separate 4G service or if there's extra carrier charges with making your current cell phone a wifi hotspot.

Thanks. I'm of the same opinion.
