Nicely done Al, I'm realizing my never-seen list is much longer than my have-seen list.

Ain't that the way it goes! Thanks for checking in and for commenting, Ian.

Super shots of a bird I'd really love to see!

Thank you, Jack. Perhaps a half dozen years ago my wife and I made this same loop drive through the Big Bog country to the west of us and found six Northern Hawk Owls in one day. Since then, however, they have not been around in those numbers. Maybe this is the year?

I'm with Ian-never seen or even aware of such a beauty! Be right proud of yourself, my friend, dandy shots. I literally forced myself to go out last week and saw a mallard and seagulls!☹

Thank you kindly, Rog. They are, for sure, nifty owls. Drive on up this winter and we'll go on a hunt.

Thank you, Mel and Bret, for taking the time to comment; I appreciate it. A friend of mine who is editor of the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union publication The LOON said that he'd like to use the second image, at some point for a cover photo. That would be fun. I've had photos published in it before, but have yet to have a cover.
