1. Are creative Styles just ways to bake effects automatically into the photos you take? Are these really intended for people not planning to edit the photos in Photoshop or Lightroom?

2. I set my Picture Profile options for video, though I am not sure if this is also affecting the photos taken?

Surprised no one has commented but I'll do my best.....if your still waiting a month later! ;-)a

1) I'm pretty sure creative styles are intended to be used by people shooting jpeg. If shooting RAW and processing in LR or PS I'd ignore them. That's what I do. But hey, what do I know??

2) I'm pretty sure picture profiles only effect vids and not stills....Again....what do I know?

I just saw a thread over at FM that PPs have an effect on the RAW and JPG stills.

they are talking about using it to mimic canon colors as well as using it to come up with a JPG preview that closely matches actual RAW DR

Creative styles affect only the JPGs
