One of my favorite birds. I grew up in South Texas. We called them Mexican eagles. Great Photos!

thanks- my favorite too. I've been out there since and think the Caracas moved on. Interesting to watch

FINALLY! Someone else who has called them Mexican eagles. I mentioned they've been called that in another forum and got this as a reply-"I've heard that too, but only from you". Honestly had me thinking maybe I'd misremembered.

My Mother grew up on the King Ranch in South Texas. Her father was foreman of the Lareles Division. EVERYONE down there called them Eagles or Mexican Eagles.

They are commonly called Mexican eagles. There is one on their flag
