I picked mine up for $689 about two years ago. Not the best IQ in the world but can't touch 600mm native glass for what? $5,000??

Yeah, I got mine at the same time for that price as well. Superb lens all around, at that price it's insane!

That was a deal a few weeks/months after it was launched. I think it was specifically to get people to try it vs. the Tamron which had been out for about 2 years if I recall correctly. Like I said, never seen it this low since then. YOu may be in for a long wait.

My understanding is that third party lenses don't hold their value like Canikon lenses do. Perhaps in a large market such as NYC it will pop up used but still in great shape for $500 sooner or later?
