Problems with 85mm1.8

thanks everyone for all the info. My daughter has the Canon T6. I'm going to try it on hers to see if it locks focus well. I love the 85mm 1.8 look. I might just buy a new lens instead.

I have actually noticed this on my T6 when I had it. Kept the lens, bought a 6DII. I think it might have something to do with the geometry on a APS-C sensor. I think it is most optimized for FF cameras. My $.02 but try focusing at different distances from the subject. You should get a hit/miss, which is very inconvenient in my eyes... Doesn't happen with the 6DII so I decided to keep it.
