what do you use in the background to make it all black or is that a post-shot edit?

Thanks -
Justin

It's black construction paper, keep a little distance, use center dot metering, then just point the light at the subject avoiding hitting the paper. Then in lightroom I might lower the exposure, touch the dehaze, hit it with some contrast and up the blacks.

HTH,
Joe

Thanks Joe - I will try it. I am not so good with lightroom yet so this might give me some more practice.

Thanks -
Justin

Don't be afraid to try hitting buttons your not sure of, they can always be brought back. It's a fun ride and I'm just learning myself.

Joe
