Some folks seem to confuse beliefs and assumptions they desire or believe to be - VERSUS simple truth and fact.

You're very welcome, @Alveric. Hensel is another very good product, which shares many traits with broncolor.

Not to forget Elinchrom...which is your country neighbour. ;-)a

....Swiss pride, especially in fine technology such as lighting and watches, cannot be matched :-)

I am pleased to see that you think that.

Oh, here it is:

forum: Flash and Studio Lighting

I remember that thread, and to the best of my memory, the discussion was more generalized to the entire industry rather than just broncolor.

I also understand that this particular response could be seen as specific to bron.

It's a small world and only getting smaller. I love buying local, and also I strive to buy high quality stuff that will last years and years. Fact is, I can't always do those things and sometimes it just doesn't matter.

I think in the context of the thread and the previous exchanges it was pretty obvious he was referring to my Siros strobe. I actually held off purchasing more Siros strobes due to his suggestion they were made in China until I heard from Bron directly.

To clarify: I meant the quote I quoted- you are correct- the bulk of the thread was definately about companies other than Broncolor. (didnt mean to sound oppositional!)

That might very well be the case, but the quote was not general...

Manufacturing is global. When a company says something is made in a certain country chances are it is only assembled in that country.

Due to regulations and restrictions there are components that can only be made in countries with more lax rules. So don't get too hung up on where something is made.

I think you missed the point of this thread.
