Hello guys.

A few months ago, after using Canon for 11 years I moved to Nikon, so everything is still new for me.

I was thinking of buying a flash, for the D850, as I always had one with Canon.
Since I loved using Canons radio wireless flashes (600-EX-RT), I was looking at the SB-5000.
Yet it is not clear for me how it works.

I did not really find a dedicated trigger for it (Like the ST-E3-RT) for Canon.
So how is it triggered? Or can I only trigger one with another SB-5000 mounted on the camera?

Also just in case I need a flash more urgently, then I anticipated, can someone recommend me some good Yongnuo or other flashes for Nikon?

Thank you.

SU-800 but nowadays there are many options for flash such as Godox v860ii or tt685 with a really nice X-pro controller.

Nikon/Fuji.

I found the SU-800, but that is optical only, isn't it? So how do I do that with radio transmitter?

So anyone here old enough to remember the commercial Pay me now or pay me later?

Well I bought the Yongnuo flash and trigger. Had good reviews. Figured how can I go wrong. It’s only like $150.

Well very wrong I went. Mine died in less than a month. Tossed it in the garbage. Ordered the SB 5000. Shame though Nikon didn’t make the wireless like Canon does. Just more money to spend.
