Hi Ryan

OK there was a craze going on here for a while, im sure plenty of people will be able to suggest different things, if you do a search on "Water drops" or something similar heaps of posts will come up.

Have the fastest shutter speed, i used my external flash, and i also did continuous shooting. I set up a dish in my photocube and put coloured dye etc. in there, and i also put some alfoil around my photo cube so i could bounce light off in different directions - it gives a cool metallic look.

Use an eye dropper and focus on this in the middle of your dish, then slowly move the eye dropper up as high as you can, use your shutter cable and click your finger down for continuous shooting, this way you catch however many drips as you can (And crowns are good to catch!)

Experiment with different water, such as deep water, shallow water (I find shallow gets beter crowns) and then experiment with different liquid substances too. I did water and used strawberries, kiwi fruit etc. for my "Drops" and they turned out pretty darn funky!
Oh as for techniques...i used ISO 200 with f8.

EXAMPLES:

These need a bit of work on them some are slightly out of focus....but pratice makes perfect eh!!! Hope this helped!
