Default Antique Infrared

Old Korean ducks, still in love...

Japanese sandals on a weathered Tibetan rug...

Torrential rain has had me wandering the living room in search of victims.

Very good photographs, Don. I particularly like the sandals. It's great to see your G1 in action again.

regards,
peter

I like the pictures very very much .

beautiful detail on the ducks backs
( I have not seen ribbons on them before)

the tibetan rug does not look too weathered
it is lovely against the pattern on the 'slippers' . and where they are placed is perfect.
the soft (infrared) shade of pink is beautiful.

japanese sandles, tibetan rug , korean ducks... living in a hong kong neighbourhood
and all getting along together fine.

they could tell a story or two.... if they could talk.
but the ducks are not allowed even a quack

best wishes

marie

Oops, I neglected to check the “email notification” box so it came as a surprise to see your comments...

Colin -- Too funny, Bud. Thanks for the Shaolin TV blessing.

Peter -- Thank you... it’s good to be back into some sort of action.

Marie -- As always, thanks for your voluminous comments. The Tibetan rug was perfect when we bought it in Darjeeling, but once we got it home we left it rolled up (there were already a dozen other carpets spotting the rooms). A year or so later we unrolled it to find that some small criminal had been eating it. If we’d left it rolled for five years, we’d have found one plump animal rolled in carpet backing.

I wandered around the village this afternoon after the rain let up and took 16 photos that I posted in another link under Share Photos.

Cheers, guys,

Don

Here's a close-up I took before pulling back and taking the shot above...

there is beautiful detail showing the textures here don.
especially in those 'slippers'
many thanks for the pictures
and for the story of the tibetan rug and the 'carpet bagger' , it who was found
( just in the nick of time seemly ) inside the rug

maybe thats where that criminal ,
he who took your camera gear, rolled out of, one starry night when you were all fast asleep

liked the shots a lot
love how the slipper shot shows that texture/ pattern.

locally 'rough' carpets are made here , something of the quality showing in those slippers would you believe
( and not the rug, the rug looks like nylon weave but that can't be because, knowing you.. and also it being a tibetan rug it would not be nylon )

regards
marie
