I really liked "Digital Sports Photography" by G. Newman Lowrance. It's available on Amazon.

Liza beat me to it, but I also really liked and learned a lot from "Digital Sports Photography" by G. Newman Lowrance. He's a NFL photographer and the book goes over the basics, to what an editor looks for, to positioning for specific sports from photographers who specialize in those sports. I've included a link to it at amazon.com.

I know there are a lot of others but this is the one I have read and would recommend.
