I dont know what the difference is between these 2 besides the macro part.
Other then that are they the exact same http://www.sigma4less.com/sess/utn;j...470F28MCA%3D29 http://www.sigma4less.com/sess/utn;j...2870F28CA%3D29 I mean if they are the same in image quality and build but only one has a macro and other doesnt. Rather get the non macro since I want to get a dedicated macro lens as well. I notice the filter for the non macro is 67mm and the macro is 82mm

That'a boy!
Both get favorable reviews over at FredMiranda and also from the photographer formerly known as FStopjoj. I'm considering those two as well as the 28-75 Tamron. What are your thoughts on them 05XRunner?

Apparently they are ordered: best, 24-70, 2nd, 28-70, 3rd, 28-75 (fstopjojo's reviews).
The 28-70 is smaller and lighter than the 24-70 and so is the tamron. the 24-70 had the best iq and the sigmas overall had better af (faster) than the tamron. now, try throwing the 24-60 into the mix |

I was dead set ont eh Tamron...cause I heard its easier to get a better copy and such.
I dont know...I think i am gonna get the Sigma 24-70..man 82mm filter though WOW thats large. With the tamron or the 28-70 I coulda shared the filters off my 70-200

You could get a LARGE step-up ring for it.
The jury is still out for me, I have another thread going on where I'm debating between a midrange zoom and the 70-200 F/4 L. Everytime I start looking at lenses I overcomplicate things... what to do...

Good decision, a lens that starts from 24mm is more usefull then a lens starting at 28mm. 70 or 75 at tele is nothing diffrence.

Well even without it is it pretty fast and quiet

I am having similar problems deciding on lenses...and if I may can I also throw the Sigma 24-60 into the ring....it get similar reviews to the 24-70 but doesn't have the 82mm thread and is smaller and lighter..
...it just never gets easier
