Default Morning Sun

Some new flowers getting a wake-up call. I finally managed to wander into the garden early enough to get the sun on the flowers and not on the background leaves...

Cheers,

Don

This is tremendous, Don, I like it very much. The light has really brought out the shape and texture and kept the background black. Excellent.

regards,
peter

Hi Peter,

Thanks very much... the nice thing about taking a good photo first thing in the morning is that if your goal is one good photograph a day, anything else is a plus.

As for the black background, you're right... but that's a trick of the yellow surroundings. When I was working on the photo, I kept my overall background black. When you do that, you see there's still some leaf detail behind the buds.

That's one reason I've been framing shots lately, but it still can't compete with the yellow. Your eye just shuts down and misses the detail that's apparent in darker surroundings. I may have to look at lightening it a bit, but that's a chore for another day.

Cheers,

Don

DON

THis is certainly pro work.

I have to put my cards on the table (as well as my past posts) and admit that I do not even see this kind of thing!

Terrific -- and ideal for a G1 or a G2.

Although I'm getting a bit tired of saying it (but not tired of looking at your images)...another winner Don!

Don, I think why all of your photos shine... is your choice of composition. Yes, the subject matter plays a part... but composition plays a bigger one (IMHO anyway), and you always nail it. Kudos.
