Default Just getting started

Here a couple shots from this week. I have just upgraded my equipment and working to improve my shots. I seem to struggle with focus and some camera shakes at times.
Any help or comments are appreciated.

This first shot has been cropped and has some work to clean out the background. PS work was messy but at least it is not as distracting.

Any C&C is welcomed.

Both shots were with the 20d and 70-200 f2.8.

First shot was manual
Shutter 1/1000
F/2.8
ISO200
70mm zoom

second shot
Aperture Priority
F4.0 (Thought I had it opened up but guess I had stopped it down som)
ISO200
