Believe it or not, this young lady rider is just 14 years old!

Yeah...she is still a little girl but she rides like a pro. The first thing that caught my attention was her eyes.

You are right about the body protection but the young don't always learn from experience. This young lady has already had damage to her back suffered in a motocross race at a local track, and she says she can't "feel the bike" with gloves on!?

She wouldn't be allowed on a track over here.
Long sleeves and gloves.

Love the backlit dust.

They aren't allowed on a race track here either unless properly clad in protective equipment, but this shot was not taken at a track it was taken at a 2600 acre state owned recreation area exclusively for OHVs - dirt bikes, quads and trikes. Gloves and long sleeves are not required although highly recommended.

welcome to the forum...it always to good to see another person from Florida on here. You got a great capture, but over here on my monitor the picture seems a little soft, and a little out of focus.

I use A plain old Digital Rebel (300) and for these dirt bike shots I usually use my Canon 75-300IS

We try and wear as much of gear as possible for what we race..!
And even some of us ladies dont mind not having nails... heh

dirt is much more fun than a manicure..Beautiful dirt shot!! I have one of a dirtbike on a Berm Ill have to post sometime..

Were you using fill flash when you took the shot? It seems like getting the great exposure of the eyes and the cool backlit roost would be tough without it...
